Snorkeling the Cays of Belize

While in Belize we cruised the pristine waters off the coast, snorkeled everyday in the crystal clear waters, getting lost in coral forests among or brilliantly colored schools of fish. Bow landings let us step right off the boat into the water, other times a skiff would take us to the shore of an islet dotted with swaying palm trees and ringed by white sand beach. We tried our hands at kayaking, sailing and paddling the local dugout canoes in the warm Caribbean waters; I cannot think of a better way to spend a February. We enjoyed the sleepy little towns with sand streets, dogs lazing in the shade and the colorful homes on stilts lining the lanes. Everything was casual and laid back, no worries.
